One Simple Change You Can Make to Increase Repeat Visitors

Being in the blogging business, I often visit other blogs in my niche and see what they are doing. If they are there, and they seem to be making money, then shouldn’t you try to copy (make note that I didn’t say STEAL) the approach they go about, and see if you can do that too?

I also see a lot of other blogs, too. And one difference stands out between the blogs in my niche (making money online) and blogs not in my niche (all the rest).

You are going to seriously laugh when I tell it to you.

The “Making Money Online” blogs use little clip art images inside their posts. Yes, some go all out and make really nice graphics. But lots and lots of them only use those freely available clip art.

You would think that if you are making $3000 per month on your blog - and yes, lots of them do, even though this one is admittedly not - then they would hire professional graphic artists to rally up their site and make their graphics pop out. But it goes to show you that the simplest graphic can bring lots of repeat customers to your site.

And here is why. Because when you put graphics on a page, it visually breaks the page up. That’s why banner ads were so popular - your eye is drawn to them. But graphics are also appealing to people. Do an experiment. Go to one blog that has no graphics and then go to one that does. Which one (other than content-wise) would you rather stay at?

So you’ll notice that across the board, I’ve begun to change all of my blogs to reflect a little graphic on each blog article. Tell me what you think of them.

When you’re right you’re right. I don’t use clip art, but I do use a lot of images I capture off TV, find on the ‘net and even comic books. And a GOOD deal of my traffic is people coming for my images. So much so, I had to setup the hotlink function.

But usually I don’t write with a bunch of bullet points or heading changes so the images break up the pieces into bit size. So I’m behind you on this one!
