Building Joint Ventures the Right Way

Posted on January 14, 2008

HandshakeOk, in this article, I am going to show you how to get a Joint Venture. These are partnerships that you form that give you a win-win situation. There are literally hundreds of articles out there to show you how to create Joint Ventures, and what I am going to tell you may or may not be the best way to go about doing it. But I am going to tell you how to do it for practically nothing.

Let me first preface by saying that Joint Ventures are different from Affiliate Links, but they are very similiar. Joint Ventures means that you use the power of your readership to gather more sales for whatever partner you choose.

So let’s say you login to your Clickbank account, and you find a product that is mildly interesting. You say, wow, this could really be beneficial to my readership! Your second thought is probably, hey, I can’t afford to shell out $100 to see if it works.

Go over to that product’s hop page and see if you can find contact information. If that product is actually worth something, then they will have contact information. Otherwise, you probably have your answer already.

Secondly, shoot them off an email. Sometimes, you may have to be patient, because these people want to sell something and they might get a lot of spam mail.

Here is an email that I send out:

Hello, my name is {Your Name}. I came across your product xyz in Clickbank. Your product looks like it could be a tremendous benefit for my readers and I would like to take it for a test drive, to see whether or not I can recommend it as a good product to try.

I am, however, very skeptical of products because a lot of them turn out to be scams, or not very good at all. Many of them turn out to be nothing more than their sales page reworded.

I’d like to know if we can work out some product review deal. In exchange for your product, I may recommend it to my web site readers. Of course, if I do recommend it, then I will install the Clickbank affiliate link so it can be beneficial to both of us.

If you are not interested, then I apologize for wasting your time.

Sincerely,

Your Name

Now, all you have to do is just wait. Some people will not respond, some people will respond with a “no thanks” and others will respond with “sure, why not?”

Make good on your word, and fully review their product. If you like it, then recommend it on your web site. If you do not, then send an email to the owner, with a note as to WHY you are not recommending their product. Sometimes, they will take what you say into consideration and actually IMPROVE their product. So even if a product isn’t up to your standards today, it might be tomorrow.
